The Ilia Skin Tint vs. The Kosas Tinted Face Oil | Which Is Best?

The Ilia Skin Tint versus The Kosas Tinted Face Oil

Skin tints have become huge in recent years, especially in the last year. Makeup is moving in a different direction and is focusing less on heavy, full-coverage makeup. Makeup is now really about a more “no-makeup-makeup” look and is centering more on the skin. Full-coverage makeup is great but, it is really nice to also have products that are more on the natural side. Light-weight, natural-looking makeup does not need to be super sheer. You can still get incredible coverage from light-weight products they just look more realistic. Skin tints can go from very light-coverage to medium coverage and sometimes even full-coverage. They tend to have a more dewy, natural finish and give your skin the most gorgeous youthful glow. There is nothing better than an easy to use makeup product that gives you a flawless and seamless look.

Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint:

  • Coverage is light to light-medium coverage but needs to be built up a good amount to get to that more medium coverage.

  • Light-weight consistency with a dewy finish and should be set with powder.

  • Not an all-day wearing tint, but the wear off is great and doesn't look patchy.

  • Blends out best with fingers or a beauty sponge, a brush absorbs too much of the product.

  • Adds a great wash of color to the skin.

  • The shade range is inclusive, but I would like to see the medium-tan/medium-dark shade range expanded.

  • Gives the skin a gorgeous finish.

  • Plays well with other products.

  • Has SPF 40, which is really awesome.

Now let’s get to the comparisons…

Kosas Tinted Face Oil vs. Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint

  • Comparison - If you are the type of person who likes more coverage, then the Kosas Tinted Face Oil is the one you should try! The coverage is more than that of the Ilia Skin Tint and is very buildable. The Ilia Skin Tint does provide a little bit of coverage, but it is more on the light side. The Ilia Skin Tint also has SPF 40 in it, which is really amazing. Even in the winter, we should be wearing SPF, and that product makes it easier for us! Although the Kosas Tinted Face Oil has more coverage, it also clings to dry patches. If you have textured skin or have dry patches, the Ilia Skin Tint is better suited for you. It smooths over those patches and does not make them more noticeable, which the Kosas Tinted Face Oil does. Both of these skin tints are amazing but have some differences. It all depends on your preferences/needs, which would be better suited for you. They both give a gorgeous finish to the skin and will make people envious of your complexion.

  • Price - The price of the Kosas Tinted Face Oil is $42 vs. the Ilia Skin Tint is $46!

  • Vegan - The Kosas Tinted Face oil is vegan, and the Ilia Serum Skin Tint is also vegan.
